Travel Management Soars with Cloud Adoption

Written by Emily Raines | April 4, 2017

Many organizations rely heavily on specific software in order to complete daily tasks. If those programs and applications fail to work, the business loses money and their customers due to not being able to deliver services. MacNair Travel Management (MacNair Travel) is no exception.

MacNair Travel, one of the largest privately owned travel management companies (TMCs) in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan region, needs its enterprise-level system, Sabre, to work properly to have access to its entire inventory of airlines, hotels and car rental companies to make travel plans for clients.

Michael MacNair, president & CEO, MacNair Travel, said, “Like other travel management companies, we rely heavily on the availability of Sabre. Previously, we had Sabre and 25 other systems that we needed for day-to-day operations installed locally on our network and we were trying to manage all of these different systems internally. It was overwhelming and difficult to ensure that urgent software and maintenance updates were installed, there weren’t any integration problems and we had enough bandwidth to have consistent uptime.”

MacNair Travel was able to overcome this challenge by turning to Cetrom to develop a customized hosted application cloud computing configuration. With MacNair Travel’s improved accessibility and connectivity due to the cloud, the company is now also able to retain some of its top talent when employees relocate and implement recruiting efforts that are not limited by geography. This has been proved to be beneficial in keeping customers happy.

MacNair concludes, “Our clients are really the ones who are benefitting from our partnership with Cetrom. By having our applications and software in the cloud, our highly-trained, expert agents have full access to the top technology in the industry enabling them to deliver the best service to our clients around the clock.”
