What’s the Difference Between A Hybrid Cloud, Public Cloud, & Private Cloud?

Cloud computing – much as its name suggests – has allowed data hosting, storage, and sharing to float in the atmosphere above conventional mainframe or server-based computing, operating online. A network of servers that synthesize to carry out complicated computing processes, converting to a cloud system allows information to be stored remotely, cutting down on wasted hard drive space. More and more businesses are sourcing cloud computing services from Cetrom and utilizing clouds for anything from accounting to employee management, payroll, advertising, presentations, and more. But there are different types of clouds, ranging from public to private and somewhere in between, and figuring out what type of computing is appropriate for your company requires some background on how each type functions. In order to help you choose which model will best float your business’s boat, we’ve outlined some of the differences between Hybrid, Public and Private Clouds below.

Public Cloud

Companies that have relatively few controls by which to comply and that and don’t need rigid integration with all aspects of business models can make use of a public cloud, which allows for fast and easy data storage through an online portal.

Private Cloud

As you might guess, private clouds are those that are engineered exclusively for one specific company, with the purpose of allowing an enterprise to store their information and applications in a highly secure manner by making sure resources can only be used by the organization that installed them. Private clouds are issued in two different formats, and make the most sense for businesses where security parameters are paramount: 1) On-Premise Private Cloud: This model, also labeled an “Internal Cloud” is hosted within an organization’s existing data center. This means that it often has a smaller scope in terms of size and scalability, while still offering relatively uniform operation and security. 2) Externally Hosted Private Cloud: In this style, the cloud is hosted by an outside cloud computing provider like Cetrom, which will offer a unique environment with the best in security.

Hybrid Cloud

Hybrid clouds offer a fusion of public and private cloud computing, allowing customizable options for a company depending on the type of applications and computational resources they are utilizing. In this scenario, businesses generally keep their database servers with highly sensitive information on a private cloud, while merging all other data onto the public cloud. Hybrid clouds allow each part of a company to be stored in the most efficient environment possible, saving time and money while providing the most effective means of data hosting. Innovators in the Cloud Computing industry, Cetrom offers customizable cloud storage on a pay-as-needed basis, meaning that clients only have to spend money on the resources they absolutely need. This flexible and exclusive system allows companies of all sizes to operate within a data storage system that meets their idiosyncratic requirements. Cetrom works with its customers to create an end-to-end, Cloud-based IT solution selecting standard applications, virtualizing legacy systems, supporting hybrid computing environments, and building long term migration plans.
